Y’all, listen. We’re talking about one of the most important and basic needs that every citizen in this country should have access to.

There is no such thing as a “right to affordable health care” or the “right to healthcare” in general.

Health Care is a service that you pay for when you need it.

Just like when you need a car worked on, you take it to the mechanic. what’s next? asking the government to pay to work on our cars because it’s “too expensive”?

ugh…

uh, we ask for the government to pay to provide transportation for those who need it; when the government runs transportation it almost always works better than private enterprise.

The government pays for plenty of things that aren’t technically “rights,” just because they don’t have to doesn’t mean they shouldn’t. Healthcare has gotten out of hand; I don’t see any reason to sit on a pedestal and say “I can pay for healthcare, why can’t you?”

I don’t have to drive a car, I do run across times when I need some antibiotics to live.

Well, you only get to live if the government decides to pay for your medicine. But you have to get past the (call it what you want) panel that is in charge of deciding who is worth the government’s money…

I didn’t say the bill was perfect, I said health care is out of control and needs someone to fix it - i see no problem with the government being the entity to do so.

I also seem to remember that you can continue to use your current insurance provider.

Oh and that the “death panels” aren’t actually in the bill.
