i get where you’re coming from, but most (decent) people who claim not to like things aren’t saying there aren’t extremely likable elements of such things. they’re just saying they don’t like things.

this commonly used distinction between “real musicians” and I guess “fake” musicians? Or really what people mean is electronic producers, R&B singers, pop singers, and rappers; but really I’ve never seen anyone specify, it’s just “I only listen to real musicians.”

Frankly, I’d like to see writers start writing about male artists’ looks rather than having everybody stop touching the subject entirely. It’d be more honest. It’s part of the presentation, there’s no pretending it doesn’t matter.
